Hello Everyone,

My Fiance and I just bought a 2007 Acura RDX for her to drive. So far we both really like it - not exactly sure what is all the fuss about poor fuel economy because it is great! Well compared to my Jeep (12.8mpg SRT).

I have been looking through this forum quite a bit as I am interested in putting a Hondata tune on it (told her it would help with fuel econmy ;) and the CP&E intake. I don't think I will go any further with performance modifications.

My last vehicle, 99 Camaro Z28 (sold last summer), I went a little crazy on and driving to work daily became a little more of a pain - was a blast to drive on the highway though. That car was a M6 (6 speed manual) with 435wrhp.

My Jeep SRT isn't too crazy (yet, hopefully I can keep the urge down of the supercharger), for performance just put a intake, exhaust, tune, catch can, and undrive pulleys.

Thanks,
Dustin

I've always wished for more power with the RDX; but, Hondata is more than enough for this SUV. Some folks have built custom downpipes that replaces one or both of Cats located right after the turbo. That can give you another jump in HP and improvement in mpgs. I'm not too sure the 5AT and sh-awd can handle that much power over time. Besides, with Hondata, there are not a lot of SUVs that can do 0-60 in 6 seconds without having a V-8 AND handle the curves for the $$.

One thing this little SUV can really do is drive the curves. You can really feel the sh-awd rotate the back end around on long curves. My neighbor has a 08 TL and he could not keep up with me when he was behind me on a 270 degree 25 mph hwy on ramp (I was going 60 mph with no tire squeal from the Conti DWS).

The RDX is a fun car to drive.

Thanks, I have been researching the performance modifications and I will certainly not go too crazy with the wife's car - definitely not to a point where I am doing custom downpipes and removing cats. I am going to add the CP&E intake with a Hondata tune and that is it.

This weekend we did experience our first problem with the RDX. The climate control damper started to make a groaning noise. Hopefully it is not too bad for me to fix!

Put the CP&E intake on the car today - I think the wife will notice. It makes quite a difference with the sound of car as turbo can be heard as well as the blow off valve. As well put on the 2" hitch, looks pretty good. Very well tucked under the RDX. Overall quite happy with both purchased.
