Talking New Member: Greetings!!!

Hello, I just purchased a 2010 RDX (front wheel drive, base) two weeks ago and happily stumbled upon this forum.

It has been a learning experience as this "CUV" represents my first foray into the utility vehicle and forced induction world (previous cars: 05 Civic SI, 06 350z respectively).

Gaining a spouse last year and and a baby girl last month has basically deemed the 350z "anti-family" two-seater useless at this point. While the wife's Honda Fit provided barely adequate space; I'm sure that it was the right move for myself to get a more purposeful mode of transportation.

And was I pleasantly suprised bumping into the RDX. This thing had room for everything, had the nicest interior I've ever driven in, and had a grin-inducing kick during acceleration.

I am also relieved that there are quite a few of you guys modifying (performance and exterior), as I thought moving into this "ute" would effectively destroy my thirst to do anything extra to this vehicle.

I look forward to being a member of this web community and learning from you all...

The 350z crowd was a little immature, to put it politely.

In general, the only negative you will find here is that people (myself inlcuded!) can be a bit touchy when people criticize the RDX unfairly. It is not a perfect vehicle, and Honda made some choices in terms of content to keep prices in line that do not seem to sit well with everybody. Plus you will get the bro-engineering "V6's have more cylinders so they are better" posts now and again. But overall it is a pretty helpful community and there is a lot of good discussion over real world concerns like tire choices, etc.

My last main forum (I still go there for OT) was NASIOC, so I think I have you beat in terms of immaturity level.

Oh I have my share of gripes about this vehicle as well.

-Get's the same gas mileage as the 350z (which isn't helping the wallet).

-Ride quality... similar to the Z again, which is weird for a even pseudo-luxury vehicles.

-It's not the fastest thing I've been in (but nice for a utility vehicle).

-Appearance from the front... takes a little getting used to.

BUT coming from my previous car and fully expecting the acceleration of a turtle out of a heavy SUV; I'm pretty much impressed.

Welcome rover,
I know was you mean about the 350z crowd. I had a RSX previously, and that crowd could get off topic in a hurry.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I will defenitely handle the leaks, baby-wise or vehicle wise, although I expect all of them from my child... BETTER not be from the RDX.

And yes, any vehicle forum that deals with cars of the sporty-nature (that teens can afford) all deal with tantrums and ego...

I really don't miss those days.

You can only edit your post for up to 5 minutes after you initially post. Afterwards, it's permanent.

lol, will do, Sir... I've read around and I assume I have to hit a certain number of posts to enable pictures .

will post pictures of the 350z as well... I want opinions on whether the aftermarket rims on the Z will look ridiculous on the RDX (other sets of eyes always help).

AND thank you!! Pretty satisfied customer here.
