My new 07 RDX Base
My new 07 RDX Base
Hi guys figured I'd introduce myself. I just picked my wife up a 2007 brown RDX base model. Car only has 28k miles on the clock and was traded in by an old couple from Florida, car is absolutely flawless with no imperfections and zero undercarriage surface rust. Originally i wanted the tech package but i couldnt pass the deal up, i ended up purchasing the car for $18,500 plus i bought the extended 3 year 60,000 mile warranty for a very reasonable price.
Only thing i am going to add is the roof rack and the dealer that i picked the car up from said they would gove me a "special" rate and install it for free. Cheapest ive seen the oem rack was for 300$ so if yoi guys know of anywhere that sells them cheaper let me know.
Ill post some pics up when i get to a PC.

Yeah but does the Yakima rack come with the rails? I was under the assumption that you can only buy the Yakima cross bars and had to use the oem rack rails?
Yakima Q-towers grip the side of your roofline at the door and round rails ride the top. Then add a bike, water or snow rack to that for around $520 total.
These can be removed and used on another vehicle in the future simply by changing the clips (if nessesary) that hold the towers down.

I have the dealer installed roof rack for over 3 years and it works fine for my yakima RockeBox Pro 14. I driven in rain, snow, and wind in speeds up to 90mph with zero issues with the rack or box. It depends if you are planning to use the roof rack for other things like bikes, ski, kayak, etc... and you need more flexibility in the design. I've had zero problems or issues with the OEM roof rack used with a cargo box only.
If you go aftermarket, I think the RDX roof can only handle 110lbs (rack included) total weight. The RDX probably could handle more weight; but, why take that chance.
