MDX forums?
There is already a huge MDX forum. I am a member there as we were/are considering it.

I only ask because I wanted to know more about the 2007 MDX HFL. It looks like the 2007 MDX HFL does what the RDX HFL should have been able to do. But the MDX still has that crappy Music Link.

I figured that with the addition of the second generation MDX, we could put out some space for them..but thats not my call to make- and i guess its not that hard to travel over there anyways

There is a standard for transferring and syncing devices information. If the RDX just adhere to the standard then there shouldn't be a problem in transferring an address book from my PDA or Laptop. Not all phones will transfer a whole address book but most phones will accept a single contact information. The idea is not new and I have been syncing my phone with my PDA/laptop for about 4 years now. As of now almost all bluetooth phones will transfer at least one entry at a time. I've transfer from my phone contact information to another phone all the time via bluetooth. If the MDX can do a single contact, then it's at least half right. Also from what I read the MDX will not just store the number but the address information. And you can have more than one phone number per contact. It's like they did a better job of integrating the HFL phone book and the Nav address book. If you have the Nav there doesn't seem to be a need to have the HFL phone book.
Also, in theory, the calendar should be updated via bluetooth if Acura just follow the freaking standard. Why have a calendar in the console in the car in the first place?
Currently many many phones will transfer one contact at a time into the MDX HFL. Any phone that supports bluetooth OPP profiles should be able to do this.
Only one brand of phone will do the entire phonebook at once, that would be Sony Ericsson. A few of their models are compatible with this feature. This is according to the phones that Acura has tested. It is possible that there are others out there that support it, and probably many that will in the future.

With very few exceptions, I always know what I'm talking about or I don't post. I'm not talking about the HFL in the RDX, I know you're salty about this, but it is what it is and to me this issue has been discussed too much. The MDX Tech will offer HFL with Phone Book Exchange. I have successfully transfered a single contact, from my V3 to the car, but cannot move the whole address book. There will certainly be more phones that support the feature, but right now, only one.

I think the difference we have is I don't think the Bluetooth transfer should be limit to just phone because most/all phone do not store address information. Maybe the phone you are referring to stores address information. Most phones store just phone numbers or email address information. When I transfer my contact list from my PDA to my phone, the phone drops the address information but keeps the phone and email address information. The MDX and RDX Nav system stores complete contact information, Phone numbers and address. If the MDX/RDX would just have a discoverable mode then you should be able to transfer your complete contact list to them from your PDA. That would be convenient as hell to me. Who wants or re-enter their contact list and maintain the list on the MDX or RDX? Bluetooth contact transfer is not just a phone thing. The hardware is there Acura just needs to add the software that would add the features. It should be trivial if you ask me.
I've been a big bluetooth user for years to transfer information so when the RDX was available and I found out how limited it was on the connectivity of course I'm going to be salty and I don't think I'm the only one.
