Question Looking at an 07 RDX w/ 74K, opinions?

I am looking to add another Acura to the garage.

I found a white 07 RDX w/ 74K miles for 17K. Tech Package.

Private owner will let me write in the price to save on taxes so that's a bonus.

Anyways, clean car overall, few scratches on rear bumper from unloading, few scratches on center console from rear passengers it looks like, 2 rims with minor curb contact on lip. Other than that, clean car, owner basically has just filled w/ gas, changed oil, and had acura service it when it was under warrenty.

What do you think about this deal?

Anything to look out for on these?

The warrantee runs out at 50K miles unless it was extended so I don't understand the comment. What type of service was performed, maintenance or repair? Are all services documented? Also, if it still has the OEM tires at 74K miles they are most likely shot. How about the brakes? $17K seems a little high considering 2011 models are out now.

Geez what did the previous owner do to drive that many miles in about 3 years? Usually a person averages 12k miles per year (at least it use to be that). This person drove double that. IMO, I would be cautious of buying that vehicle just because of the huge amount of mileage in such a limited time frame.

Services are documented, all Acura service. 10K miles on new tires,1K miles on brakes all around. Oil always changed on schedule. Other service that popped up were covered under warrenty at Acura, since 50K, not sure what has been serviced if anything. Arm rest cover was reupholstered because thin stock leather was wearing, now it is a quality leather.

Blue book appears to be 19-20.

Leased some time in 06, so a full 4 yrs old. Milage is a bit high I suppose, but seems to be priced accordingly?

Find me a lower milage RDX at that price and I will gladly take a look

High mileage in a short time frame could be a good thing, in that maybe they are mostly "highway" miles? When I traded in my Xterra in August I had 128k after 4.5 years. My RDX that I drove off the lot on 8/13 now has 5300 miles on it.

Good point stray. That is true. I'm just more of a person that would buy a new car or a car with real low mileage but completely understand that that means a higher price. As long as the car has always been properly serviced I think that's the most important part.

OP, im in the same boat but the rdx im looking at with 76K is price @ $18K so id say u got a damn good deal!

mine has only one owner and it seems the rdx is bulletproof in regards to the engine and powertrain however the wife and i are gonna get a 3rd party warranty just to keep a peace of mind.

i say go for it!!

This is one owner, he just leased it rather than buying... He bought it out from the lease yesterday (dont ask me about leases, I have no knowledge of them) and is waiting to get the title in the mail before I go pick it up, I wanted physical title in hand...

I figure 4 solid yrs ownership is ~19K yr which isn't too much over the 15K national average...

Kelly Blue Book is 18,500 in good condition, so 17K and little to no state tax doesnt sound too bad?

I met a woman the other day at a state park that had the exact same RSX, color, options, trim, etc... She has 144K on it!! She drives close to 200 miles a day 5 days a week, said its never had a major problem and loves it, now that is high miles! Wow.

I'm probably on my way to high mileage as well because I have a long commute to the office. However, I work from home 3 days a week, so I only make the trip once or twice a week. 85 miles each way. My 2011 is just under 5 weeks old and has about 2500 miles. I am compulsive about my cars, though, so maintenance will be top notch.
