keep waiting for buy now?
keep waiting for buy now?
I know dealers are desperate to sell before the year/month ends. The special financing rates also ends on 1/02/07.
Based on everyone's experience do you all think deals will get any better at the start of the year? Or should I just pick one up now?

Well, as I posted on another thread, I just saw $670 under invoice for a base RDX. That is about as good a deal as I have gotten on any new car, except in cases where there were manufacturer incentives. So the only reason for me to wait longer would be greed! You may be able to save more money by waiting longer, but the combination of year/month-end deals and the Acura financing is probably going to make this a very good time to buy. That's my gut feeling. Better deals will always come along in the future, but the current deals are pretty good.

I think right now is a pretty darn good time to buy. My salesman tells me RDX sales are picking up. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but dealers seem quite willing to move them right_now. Acura may offer some dealer incentives in January, or they may not. They may also continue the promo APR, or they may not. This is one of the reasons I'm buying now; I just figure a good deal is a good deal. Plus, waiting only makes my old car worth less in resale...and the RDX could go either up or down in [negotiated] price as sales climb (or not).

hmm... maybe i'll pick one up tomorrow or mid next week. I'm just waiting for a good trade offer for my ride. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/car/249955442.html
I have got to agree with the others. I think this is the best time to buy. The dealers are willing to make deals and there is good financing available. That combination is hard to beat. If you are seriously consideirng buying an RDX in the next several months, I suggest you consider buying now. Good luck. JMHO Jay

I'm going in after Xmas, but before the end of the year.
I just got my first offer for $200 under invoice via email today for a Tech. I was really disappointed with the responses at first, but now things are picking up and I can see the So Cal dealers are hungry before the end of the year.

I was offered an 07 RDX with Tech Package for $33,988 with free body side molding (not sure what that usually costs) and any dealer added options at dealer cost.
But I have heard the gas mileage is horrible. My 98 Explorer averages 18mpg and if this thing only gets that I may just go with a TL.

BTW, I forgot to mention not only was my quote marked up from msrp. I asked the sales guy if he was willing to throw in a ton of dealer installed options for me if I paid his marked up price of 37k. His reply was "well, you already are getting a lot of options... you're getting heated seats, heated side mirrors, xenon lights and powered seats and SH AWD..."
What an ass. All of that shit already comes with the car I told him.

Car salesmen are amazing. How did you keep from laughing in his face? I would defintiely check the dealers 20 to 30 miles away. It would be worth it not to have deal with that guy. Only thing I would do as well is let that guy know that he lost the sale because of what he said and the poor offer. Maybe he will change for the next guy that somes in for a car. Good luck and happy holidays. Jay

I already have a few dealers fighting for my business. Most likely check them out towards the end of the week when they have to meet their quota. =P
animagix, i live in manhattan & heard the horror stories about parragon's sales gimmicks & techniques. they are for one of the most dishonest dealerships in the nyc area. i was dealing with the acura in brooklyn & the manhattan dealership (one mile from my apartment). but i ended up purchasing my rdx from bedford hills 44 miles away from a good reputable, honest dealership at a great price. but i agree that you should buy before the end of the year. not many times does a new (& great!) vehicle from acura sells near or below invoice!
