Is there a brand, which provides excellent quality for the daytime runners and foglamps? The color really makes the HID's look bland.

Who makes HIGH QUALITY bulbs that have been used on the RDX? I do not mind paying a higher price for a high quality product that will LAST for a very long time. No eBay generics, unless brand specific.

The color I am interested in is a whiter/light blue color, and my motive is to get rid of the brownish look on these bulbs, which will make the overall look of the front lights, a bit more-appealing.

PIAA has nice bulbs. Higher end bulbs..

Go for H11 Xtreme WHite Plus for the fogs.

How do you get into the foglamp module? Does it require removal of panels, etc?

Thanks! They seem to make good product, but are they a reputable company that makes good products? I do't want to have to change a bulb every six months or so.

The fogs are hard. Have to remove the bumper. The DRL are cake. Five minutes even if you are anal and take the RDL fuse out. I tried some that were recommended on an SRT-8 forum (of all places). Very little difference from stock. Maybe after a year or two I will do an HID conversion.

the fogs are easy as cake. i did mines through the tire well. i suggest you do this very carefully though.

I have a plastic film over my fogs it works great and gives a real sporty look, extremly cheap and easy install. On a separate note does anyone know what bulbs the DRL run? Like size or code number etc... thanks fellas

I just put the Hoen bulbs in my high beams and fogs and they look great. At some angles they actually look whiter than the HIDs. All-in-all they are a much better match colorwise. I hope they last a long time...

I had the Hoens in my BMW for the low beams and they were fantastic, they lasted a very long time also
I've got the PIAA Extreme WHite in the fogs, and they are better than stock, but not a huge difference, I also put them in for the DRLS and High beam, the High beam works well, but the DRL's really showed no difference, so I just pulled the fuse and don't run them anymore

Does anybody else hate the fact that you can't have the foglights on without having the headlights on?

Yes, there are times when I wonder while driving, but I guess it's for saftey purposes so you don't mistaken the foglights as headlights when it is on. Believe me, I have seen this with many people driving on the roads, mainly M3's; I don't think it's an issue for us as our HID's are bright as heck.

But I wouldn't mind having the foglights on without the headlights...

Yes much closer to HID color. You can still tell a difference but it is very close. Because of the two different technologies, the light will vary from different angles. The HIDs are much more consistent being bright white except for the edges of the light where you see the blue and purples. The halogens vary more, being bright white head on, but vary more as you get to the edges.

I ordered the xenonmatch for the fogs and the plus for the highs. The titaniums scared me with the 70w rating. I didn't want to put something that is going to draw too much power since it wasn't built for it. It may work fine though.

the drl seem to have a film over the reflectors thats why even blue/white lights seem to be the same color as stock.

Then how do you explain the high beams being bright white? The DRLs burn yellow because thats what you get from any halogen bulb when you only give it half the power it was made for.

are you saying you tested it and its giving you 6 volts?

Power is measured in watts, not volts. The high beams normally run at 60 watts. To light the bulbs for DRL use they just cut the power to say 30 watts(not sure the exact figure).

ok, actually, no there is no film on the mirrors as i had thought. in fact it has to do with the VOLTAGE given to the light. Sorry, its not the current in this case. The drl get roughly 3 volts dc, and the high beam gets about 13 volts dc.

So you can understand its not the actual current, there is ONE + dc wire only to the light. The light is a single filament bulb. Since the wire feeding to the light triggers both the drl and high beam, surely its fused, like 10 amp or something similar, soooo current is not the correct term. again its about the supplied voltage (from 3volts to 13 volts) that dictates the brightness and thus the color. Would be interesting to see at what point (voltage supply) the light would start to look white instead of the dingy brown.

I hadnt realized the high beam was the drl as well, i never use the high beam. Nor did i look into the voltage idea until just now. Hope this clears it up for some.

Key thing to make your bulbs last when you replace them...make sure not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers or let them get any scratches prior to install.

Just ordered a set of Toshiba (hey, they made my excellent HD-DVD player!) 9011 HIRs from eBay to replace the DRLs. I'm leaning towards the Hoen Endurance for the fogs since nothing is better for visibility in ugly weather than a good yellow fog beam.

Definitely looks whiter than stock, but still slightly yellowish compared to HID color temps.
