Help needed!
Hi all. Acura Canada introduced a cash rebate of $3,000 plus 1% less on GST as of Nov. 1 on the RDX base model. I bought the car and took delivery on Oct. 22, about a week too early! I phoned Acura Canada customer relationship this morning trying to negotiate for some benefits, but was turned down totally. Anyone have any suggestions as to continue to fight or there's no way I can get something. Thanks.

...and as for the the question, once a loan / deal is locked in, they are hesitent to make changes. (A lot of paper work for them!)
for 20,000 dollars
yes, you can get an immobilizer from Honda Motor Company. It will cost you 20 k in addition to the US price. You do get the Canadian MDX with it as a bonus.
Dont u just love restrictive trade practices now. It took 10 years under NAFTA for
Canadians to be able to import cars directly, and then the Canadians implement an anti theft feature as a requirement. And oh buy the way without it you cant bring your car into canada. There is no immobilizer at present you can buy or modify for a honda. Canadian consumer loses again. Thanks Honda.

Well I bought mine before Oct and got $3K+ right off the hop.....but that was through, ahem, strenuous and often down right nasty negotiations.
( Nasty on my part - my sales guy put up with a lot...and keept on trying)
Regardless, I have doubts that AOC will reimburse you the $3k....but I can guarantee you the dealer knew about the upcoming incentives, however was trying to make the end month sales quota. Perhaps a visit to the dealer / sales manager might help. They may offer you some accessories / service etc if you can present a decent argument.
If you don't ask, you don't get.

There is currently a large cash back incentive going on right now which gives anyone buying the car in cash a BIG discount. What I mean by big is at least $4500-5000 off the MSRP for the base model.
But back to the OP, they have no obligations to give you a new price since the car was purchased before the Nov Incentives were made active. You can try to fight for a couple free oils changes, but I don't see them doing any more than that. But let us know if you find out differently!
Oh, don't think too much on the 1% GST off.. that's just a gimmick.. they still charge 6%, but work the discount back into your negotiated price.

Thanks for everyone's input and info. I received a call from Acura Canada Friday evening saying that they will reimburse the difference between the discount I got from the dealer and what the promotion cash rebate for an RDX they are offering now. It should work out to be around $2,500! My dealership in Burlington should notify me some time next week to pick up the rebate cheque! How about that. What I did was making 1 phone call to Acura Canada to express my frustration. Then 3 calls to my dealership. Then a follow up letter to Acura Canada. I will post the exact amount when I get the cheque.
I got back from out of town yesterday and got a cheque for $3,000 rebate in my mailbox as promised by Acura Canada. I am happy! They didn't even subtract the discount I originally got from the dealer. Acura is the best!
wow...talk about Customer Service...that's very rare to receive a reimbursement check of any kind (after an agreed-upon, signed, sale)...
I personally would write another letter of thanks for the excellent service.

IMO, this is exactly the kind of behavior Acura needs to exhibit to be taken seriously as a luxury brand. Don't just meet customer expectations or follow the letter of the law, but exceed expectations and do more than they have to.
