is this a good deal for 07 rdx?

ive been looking for a crossover for a while, i just want something thats fun to drive, safe, and a little bit higher than the audi coupe i have...ive looked at murano, fx, rdx, infinity ex

murano: drives nice, but lacks acceleration and i dont like the wasted space in the interior dash

fx- marvelous exhaust note, but bigger than i expected and afraid of the 15/20 mpg

ex- g35 on steroid, marvelous interior, rear seat sucks, too $$$

i liked the rdx, drove nice, lovely brakes too, but had 3 questions:
1) is the tech package necessary? i have a portable gps and weak hearing in a ear so i never blast the radio for safety reasons
2) 30 k miles for a negotiated price of 22.5K, is that good? (non - tech)
3) was anyone concerned about the engine? being the first generation, anyone have any longterm concerns for reliability?

thanks!

Granted, I'm biased, but I think you made a good choice in deciding on the RDX.
1. Tech: Personal choice. Sounds like you are fine without it.
2. 22.5 sounds like a good price to me. Very good imho for a car still under factory wty, but I haven't shopped used models. Assume it is clean, clear, etc.
3. NO concerns about engine whatsoever. Make that your last concern. It is solid, period.

Good luck in your decision, and enjoy whatever you get!

1- The tech package is "necessary" in the 07 if you want the bluetooth, "premium" (I haven't noticed the premiumness) radio, navigation, and voice command. Personally I only care for the bluetooth integration. I'd rather pay a few hundred dollars for an aftermarket navi than thousands for the built in one.
2- I think that you may be able to get a tech for that price....but I am NOT the right person to answer that question.
3- A little bit. I was more concerned about the Turbo technology than the engine itself. I think that if you read the board there are very very very few issues with the car to report. What you hear the most is the "lacks" of the car, i.e. rear A/C vents, Ipod integration, heated rear setas, heated back on passenger, etc. that you would get in other cars.

From you selection of cars, I think that the Murano is bigger than the RDX. I didn't realize how "small" the RDX is until I needed the room, so consider that before you discard the Murano.

The FX is a nice car, If I didn't need a trunk that would be my car, you feel like you are being hugged as you drive. As for the mileage, 15/20 is pretty common for the RDX, so don't let that be the deciding factor. Hey, I have been tracking my mileage and have averaged under 20mpgs in over two years of ownership.

EX, don't care for it, it's more like an SW than a crossover.....without the trunk space

Good luck....if you can swing it, go for an 08, you don't need to get the tech package on that one.

from my research, the fx is thirstier than the rdx, but thats not a deciding factor.

i like the murano, and am willing to forget the bad acceleration, i just dont like all the huge dashboard space in the front

i dont really need a lot trunk space, seems like you prefer the murano in the list provided??

btw, im looking at autotrader in my area, and i dont see rdx lower than 25 or so for 07

Just for sake of argument. 6 months ago I paid $27,300 for '09 RDX base with 15k miles.

As far as "forgetting bad acceleration" on Murano. IMO I don't think I could. Part of the 'allure', for lack of a better term, of the RDX is the way it drives. I enjoy driving it, period. I've put nearly 10k miles in 6 months, way more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. Hardly ever drive my wife's car anymore.

The Murano has a CVT which takes getting used to...and I couldn't. This transmission feels sluggish and the engine drones. I much prefer a regular automatic and the driving experience of the RDX in particular.

The EX is the best on the list as long as size does not matter.

The ex35 also has bad outward visibility for that matter. Why buy a crossover if you re not going to have the high seating and the feeling of being in command of the road? Might as well buy a car and get better performance and economy.

This guy traded in his RDX with 42K miles for 21K in the DC area....don't know if that helps...what you need to consider, and I am sure you will, is the cost of travel Vs savings on price

i saw that, so I assume the dealer will markup it a couple grand when it puts it on sale....so mid 20s again, i suppose thats the going rate for these (acuras hold value, cant deny that!!!)
