Which Front Pads For 2007 RDX?
Hi all,
Not being very mechanical I leave the servicing of my RDX to my independent shop. I'm not an aggressive driver and I use the RDX for commuting to work 40 mi/day (50% street/50% highway) and 'trecking' the kids to their baseball and soccer game on weekends.
My front pads desperately need to be replaced and my shop mechanic suggests replacing the original equipment with either Akebono ProAct or Wagner ThermoQuiet (both ceramic, which they carry). Are these ceramic pads truly better than the OEM pads and if so, which of the two should I go for?
Thanks!

Hi,
My '07 has Akebono ceramic pads, they work good, better than OEM, problem is the annoying vibration after repeated braking at Highway speeds, but not everyone noticed this well known issue on Acuras and Hondas, just the more agressive drivers, my brother whom I got the RDX from, never noticed this vibration, I am preparing to replace the front rotors in favour of drilled and slotted ones, I got new front brake pads from R1Concepts ( Perfect Quiet ceramic pads) but it will be installed along with the new rotors but it should wait until I could go USA and bring the rotors along.
Hope this helps.

The Stillen performance pads I use actually make a lil bit of noise at very slow speed when cold (i.e. backing out the driveway in the AM), but that stops after a stop/turn or so, and they deliver great stopping power and bite.
Some wives may not tolerate that for the great performance. But hey when you need brakes, YOU NEED BRAKES. I'd rather have strong ones.
