Thumbs up Finally part of the club

Well, sort of...

After salivating over this truck for the past month or two, I signed a lease on a white / blk Tech RDX yesterday. Got a great deal on my trade, and it was in the price range that I was looking for, so I'm pretty stoked!... Only downside is the dealer says it might take until Feb '07 before I see it due to the popularity of this colour combo!!

Good things come to those who wait ( ), but this is torture!!

Hope to have more to say in the future... see you on the streets!

February :wtf:

I'm surprised they can't locate one for you near by. Good luck, and enjoy your car.

Where are you located? There are a bunch of white/black on dealer lots in my area. There are about 50-60 RDXs on the lots of the two local dealers, and almost every color is available....

Ya, sorry... just updated that. I'm in Toronto and dealt with Sherway Acura (for those familiar with the city). They only had two whites on the lot, the one I looked at closely was a tan interior and (I think) non-tech. They also had a carbon on the lot, and a red, but I really prefer the white...

Not sure how availability stacks up in the rest of the city. The GTA has a very large Asian population, who seem to prefer white vehicles which might explain the high demand (at least around here). Odd though, I haven't seen many RDX on the streets yet but to hear the dealer tell it Acura can't build them fast enough.

more likely that Canada just isn't getting a large supply of them. RDX's are more than plentiful on dealer lots. Only had my first non-dealer sighting of an RDX on the road yesterday.

Welcome to the GTA RDX club. (I guess we really have to form this club ) wow, so you have to wait 3 months !!! But it is good that you got the deal $2,000 below MSRP. But I think it is something to do with the factors that you are trading in your car and you are leasing. Thus, they have more room to go from them other than just the sale price.

I got mine back in Sept and became one of first RDX owners in GTA. But the price is to pay MSRP

Heh heh. Thanks! Are there many GTA owners on here?

Sadly, as you say, there are no deals to be had for the first owner of a new new model vehicle. My wife and I got taken for a ride when we bought the 1st release Mazda Protege5, so we held out as long as we could on the RDX... I cracked first.

I might have got a better price because of the lease, but I can't say for sure. My trade is basically counts for nothing since I still owe on it... basically the dealer is paying off the remaining balance with 0 profit to me.

Lease rates are still high (7.4%), but the dealer said that if they drop between now and when we get the truck, I'll get the better rate. I fully expect that I'll be kicking myself in six months as the rates continue to fall and much better deals can be had...

We have had ours a month now in Saskatoon and have not seen another, I also dont see any at the dealer, they told me they would sell great if only they could get their hands on them. It appears there are surpluses in some areas and tough to get in others.

Thumbs up Just picked mine up..

Just picked mine up on Friday (Nov 18). Absolutely loving it. Went for black, tan, tech. Hasnt rained yet, so still appreciating my choice of black. Kids havent spilled chocolate milk yet, so still appreciating my choice of tan. Hard to figure out all of the buttons and voice options, but should be fun learning how it all works. The bluetooth phone hook up is awesome... enjoy how car "takes over" the functions the minutes I sit in car. Only complaint so far is a for a handy spot on/near dash to place cell phone and coffee drive thru money.

I got one of those non-slip pads and cut it to fit the ledge in front of the nav screen and thats where I usually place my cell phone. It sits there and doesn't move through hard cornering. But it does depend how big your cell phone is there cuz it can block some of the screen.

Cupholder.

Very rarely are both of mine in use at the same time (at least in my current mule). Not great for change, but usually perfect for a cell phone.

BTW, congrats on your new ride!

Thanks!

Not too sound too dorky, but have decided I will pick up one of those goofy change purses and leave in the compartment along door -- at least will always have my Tim Horton's money handy. I dont want to have much stuff cluttering up the visible cockpit. Looks too damn good to do that, yet anyway!
