Anyone have any experience with this protection?? The electronic rust module is a little box that connects to your battery - it covers your vehicle with a complete negative charge that repels rust and whatever causes it (sounds weird, eh??). It's used on boats, oil rigs, etc., and is certified by the US gov. and the Canadian government in Quebec.

I was going for a more basic protection package, but our sales guy (who is really a nice, decent fellow - seriously) has offered to upgrade us to this at no extra cost because he things we should have it, plus it's transferable to other vehicles, so if you drive the RDX for a few years and get something else, then you simply apply it to the new vehicle.


Also, I'm a little concerned about the whole negative charge thing - what are the repercussions, e.g. of being surrounded/zapped by a neg. charge over the 3-5 years or more you own your vehicle???

Wow - could it be we're nearing life in the world of Gene Rodenberry?? Gadgets like this seem too good to be true.

 

i have a little rust spot on the back of my hatch. its covered under my warranty so ill just let them know.

 

Heard about that before, doubt it works, but maybe I'm wrong.

Sounds like a gimmick, especially if the dealer is trying to sell it as an add-on.

 

well it obviously does not work seeing how i have it and i have rust.

 

Wow DNP - How can you have rust on a brand new vehicle?? You're not talking about your nice-lookin' new white RDX are you??

So, you have the electronic rust module fitted to your battery and you still managed to get rust - how on earth???

 

i have no idea how the rust got there but its there. its a really small spot. ill try and take a picture later but yeah. its covered by my warranty so...

 

doors and hatches don't necessarily have a good conductive connection to the rest of the vehicle which would prevent the electronic rust module from doing its job on these parts.
