Drl

Yesterday we took both vehicles to the bike trails. I was in front and noticed the driver side DRL was weaker than the other. I'm looking at replacing them both. From what I see and understand the 2012 uses a 9005 bulb and this can be converted to LED. If going LED route what should I look at. I've looked at some and some say I need an adaptor so that the DRL and HB work. is there an easy solution type led that is PnP or should I just stick with good ole 9005?

I think the complexity comes in from the fact that the DRL is actually the high-beam on low power, so if you go changing the DRL bulb you have to make sure it'll work at both power states. IIRC, this can be an issue with the LED units as they can be the same bright regardless of input power, meaning that suddenly your DRLs are as bright as your highbeams....

Check out my thread on adding LED DRLs for a link to the bulb and how to get the resistors to use the high beam as DRLs with no error code.
