Does the RDX have LED taillights?
I haven't seen an RDX from the rear yet really, but just wondered if it has LED taillights? If not, are there aftermarket ones that can be installed?
I don't get all the fuss about LED tailights. I mean yes they're brighther and last longer but really it's more of a marketing ploy than anything else.
I mean what do they "really add" to the car. You can't tell me that no one isn't going to notice a regular brake light...because if that's the case we'd have a lot more accidents than we currently do. I see LED taillights as a nice to have but I don't want to pay extra for them.

leds from what I gather are quicker to light up. thats all.
Infinity/Nissan are putting it on alot of their cars but honda/acura only put it on the mdx and I believe the accord hybrid, haven't seen led tails on any other acura/honda.
I'd prefer led's they are brighter and just give the car a nice look.

The TL and S2000 have them, and I would assume the RL does as well.

You can change the brake lights, third brake lights, inner parking lights, and backup lights without problems. If you want the turn signals, you'll need resistors to avoid the hyperblinking. Check out this thread:

do you have any pics on how they look like ?
thanks
I haven't taken pics yet but i dont' think you'll spot a difference in the rears. I took my leds OUT since I blacked out my lights and i wanted to see what they look like with stock halos and even with blackout (dark-redout) the lights are visible and I haven't had the chance to put the LEDS back. I really dont' see a difference. I mean, its probably brighter but since the rear lamps are RED and white, youll preobably see the LEDS when you reverse your car but nothing more.
I had LEDS on the license plate too but took them out cuz it just attracts attention to CHP which makes it easier to take my plates down. Moreover, i dont need further attention to my dark-redout lights.
my 2 cents

seriously , just go to your rdx with a screwdriver, take off any one of your lights take off the halo, put it back in and its done. Heck, use your top brake light even which takes less than 30 seconds to take off with two covers on the light itself and screwdriver. Its just a plug and play man.

I didn't have time to do do the tail lights on my way out from work this morning but I did get a chance to do the high stop tail lights. I used a T15 wedge which is a 921 replacement but you shoudl consider perhaps getting something like this: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/SMD-LED-Doo..._t10_sku13.htm which has more LEDs and probably brighter. I'm just not sure it will fit in the socket. It probably will since the enclosure looks deep enough.

as you can tell, this T15 921 replacement is not as bright as the Halo. Obviously I took it back out. I dunno if its the dark red tailight tint, but yeah, halos are brighter

There are lots of different types of LEDs, and I'm happy with the output of my SMT's from v-leds. All of my LEDs are brighter than the stock bulbs. The interior LEDs give off a cooler white than incandescent, which is a warmer yellowish light.
Here are some pics. They're not easy to photograph (don't know another RDX to photograph side-by-side) I used flash on some exterior pictures but in actuality, they're brighter than the picture shows. And yes, those backup lights are blinding! I also did a short video but haven't figured out how to upload yet.

Nice pics! I guess I'll put my LEDS back in this weekend. Maybe the top brakelamp was just an anomaly being dim.
An yeah, incandesent across the board save for the 9005 and H11. I was just too lazy to type ;p

None of the tail light bulbs or interior bulbs are halogens - they're incandescent. The only halo's we have are the headlights and fog lights.

I have led's for them but they don't even look that bright
Also, do you guys notice that the leds for the dome lights in the second row burnt out really fast ?
I've replaced it 3 times in the past 4 months

Did you change the tail turn signal bulbs as well by any chance.....if you did, does the color come out more amber than red?....
