Do the doors lock themselves when you drive the RDX?

One of the few things that annoy me about my wonderful TSX is that the doors don't lock themselves, even when you drive the car. You have to manually lock them.

I wonder if the RDX has doors that lock themselves when you drive the car? Or do you again have to manually lock them?

They do. However you can reprogram them to lock or unlock to suit whatever mood you're in.

It is programmable with the tech package. I don't think the base package does it.

With the tech package, you can program it to lock at speed (9mph) or when you shift out of park or to do nothing. You can also program it to unlock when put into park or when the ignition is turned off or to do nothing.

Check page 133 of the Owners Manual. The locks are programmable for both RDX options.

Oh yeah, I stand corrected, the base model procedures for locking are on page 133. and unlocking on page 136. Just a little more complicated than the tech package procedure.

glad I read this thread then, I assumed the locks were not re-programmable on the base!

My base RDX was defaulting to auto lock/unlock from the dealer. The first thing I did was change my settings to *NOT* lock/unlock automatically.

(At least with the tech package) you can also choose whether just the driver's door or all doors unlock automatically. Mine came from the dealer with just the driver's door unlocking and I changed to all doors unlocking when shifting into park - tired of making my passengers feel like trapped animals...

Thank you everyone for your input! I really appreciate it.

So I assume that the new MDX has programmable door locks like the RDX then?

Too funny! I have to reprogram mine cause I didn't realize the passenger's door doesn't unlock with mine. I always have to reach over them to manually unlock the door. passengers can't ever find the manual door lock/unlock. and the power lock says "auto"...what's wrong with "lock"

Incidenally, my salesman sat down with me at purchase and asked me how I wanted the locks and lights programmed and preset the radio dials to my choosing. even linked my phone for me. He would have linked my garage door but I didn't have my opener at the time. I just sat there while he did all this thinking OMG...thanks!

My salesman was offering to show me the car, but the dealership had closed 45 minutes earlier and just about everyone had gone home and I had a 90 minute drive home in front of me. When we tried to pair my phone for 5 minutes without success (he knew the basic procedure, but not the details) I thanked him and headed home and fiddled a bit here and there and then read the manual when I got home.

He did remove all of the stickers for me, asking me each time, and he also helped me mount my Fastrak transmitter on the new windshield (in an ever so slightly wrong location :-( ). A little more attentive than previous dealers, but not tremendously so.
