dime size ding on liftgate

Was not careful when I lifted the liftgate in my garage with the garage door open, and made a dime size ding on it. have made an appointment with a local paintless dent repair person to look at repairing it. ~ $100.

I have had used paintless dent repair services in the past on my other cars, but they were on doorside panels, which does not require removal of any interior panels.

I would not really have considered it but it was in a location that was pretty visually obvious.

I did they same thing when I first got mine. I got rear ended last summer, so I got it fixed for free (I had just touched it up--mine was more of a scratch than a dent).

Me, or mav? When I got rear ended, I had damage on both the liftgate and bumper. Got hit by a new Pilot. Driven by a cop

Okay, the paintless dent repair work was completed on my RDX this afternoon, in about 20 mins. I am not sure how he does it, but the nickel size ding, about 5mm deep has been removed, can't ever tell it was ever there, except for the light scuff marks which I will be looking for some strong paint polish to remove. He had to remove a small plastic panel from behind the liftgate panel, and got his tool inside to push out the ding.

I have had paintless dent repair done before on my other cars in Vancouver, Canada, a guy whom i really trust for the work he does. So needless to say, being new to new england area, don't know anyone who can provide references on this kind of work on a car, I kind of took the risk on this guy. Very pleased with the work.

If it was a much older car, I probably would not bother. I am still amazed at how he got to the site in question.

I got a 2 inch dent/scratch in my RDX liftgate this weekend. I was quoted $553 to fix it by one repair shop. Thankfully my co-worker's brother works in a repair shop and he quoted me $300. I don't know if it is a good price or not but that's the cheapest I have been able to find. I want to fix it as quickly as possible since it looks very ugly.

If the paint is damaged at the dent, then you would have to do a complete paint/dent repair work. But if the scratch is minor, no paint peeling, then I suggest you look into paintless dent repair. It cost me only $100 to get it done, and no respraying of the paint, preventing issues with paint matching.
