Datacom Starter kill...anyone else have one?
I just purchased a used 2008 RDX Tech in Toronto that was originally leased new in Montreal. It came with a Datacom starter kill security thing where you can turn the key to start but the starter doesn't engage unless you push the button on the Datacom key fob.
Datacom WAS a montreal based company that isn't around anymore. I don't really want this thing on the car, it's just an extra step to start the car and I worry it will fail someday or the battery will go dead in the key fob and i won't be able to start it.
Does anyone else have one? I need the instruction manual on how it's wired in. I can't even find the unit...it must be hidden up in the dash somewhere. I just hope whoever installed it didn't mangle the factory harness somewhere.
