Question Cruise Control Prob??

My wife just passed the 1000 mi break in period on our new CG RDX. Love the RDX so far - handles like our '04 TSX. Anyway, just tried to engage the cruise control with no luck. The cruise control master switch does show in the display, but when we press "set", nothing happens - no light in the dash, nor any engine response. We're hoping it is something small like maybe a bad fuse. Anyone else w/ the same issue?

Take it back to the dealer. If you press the CC switch a green CC light should come on in the display. If not, return for repair. It may just be a fuse or a bad button. Did it ever work before?

I had a problem were my Real-Time traffic didn't work. Took it to the dealer and problem was solved.

Good Luck.

CC has never worked - this was the first time we've tried it. I'll take it by the dealer this weekend. Hopefully something small. I'll post the results.

Dealer replaced brake switch - (basically a switch to make sure cruise control shuts off when you hit the brakes) - everything works fine now. It was about a 30 min repair and covered under the dealer warranty.

When do you guys use CC? I find that if their is traffic I'm never comfortable engaging it, while if their is no traffic, I am going faster than I should be using CC at.

Almost never -- I don't like turning that much control ovet to the electronics. I occasionally use it on long highway trips when traffic is light.

I use it often, even in traffic. It's a means of speed control if I am traveling at a steady pace; obviously in stop and go traffic or non steady flow traffic, it's not the best idea. And really, there's no such thing as "too fast" for cruise control. . . it's a replacement for the gas pedal, not the brakes or you brain.

I follow the manual quite faithfully, and the cruise on my vehicle works fine.

According to the manual, page 241, "It should be used for cruising on straight, open highways. It is not recommended for city driving, winding roads, slippery roads, heavy rain, or bad weather."

In the WARNING! box on that page, they again repeat "Use the cruise control only when traveling on open highways in good weather."
