Coin/change pocket

Anyone have a better solution to hold coins in their RDX? I hate the spring loaded one in the center console and have a hard time picking them out of the bottom of the cup holder. I'm thinking about buying the ashtray that fits in the cup holder, but am looking for better alternatives. Thanks!

I use the lid from a 25 pack DVD spindle and have it inside the center console.

Meh....if you're in the northeast, just get an EZ-Pass and dump the change.

Only problem with this is that if you get pulled over, cops always think you're holding your drugs in there. And yes, I know this from experience.

I meant to imply that a cop has thought I was carrying drugs in a film canister, not that I actually was!

I give all my lose coins to bums at major intersections in LA, so coin storage is not an issue with my RDX.

Interesting trivia. When the 1976 Honda Accord came out, it had a coin tray, and people were remarking on this little nicety that was not found in any other car regardless of the price. Soichiro Honda said he was digging in his pockets for coins while approaching a toll booth and almost had an accident. Ever after, he said, every Honda must have a coin tray, so the story goes...

Coin wallet

I bought a coin wallet (wife laughs at me since it really is a coin purse but I wont call it that in front of her.) Black leather, very masculine!
I keep in in the little cubby in the door -- very handy there for drive thrus.

What I did with the center console ( which is working out great) is I keep about 4-6 bottles of water in the very bottom ( stays cool so far down there), on the next shelf I went to Staples and purchased 4 Clear Vinyl zipper top pencil cases. I put all my pens, paper, in one, other gizmos in another, etc. Its nice because I can grab all 4 cases with one hand see inside and find what I need easily with out digging in the huge console. It also prevents stuff from knocking around in there when you go around sharp corners really fast

Exactly what I did and it works well. Also store my sunglasses there.

I think I'll go for the "coin wallet" as well. As for pockets.....I've already emptied out all the change from my khakis and slacks into that crack between the seat and center console.

I bought one from Target. It fits in your cupholder. It has 3 spring loaded slots on the top for quarters, dimes, nickels and a detachable bottom for pennies or whatever else. Works great cost about 6$.

I use the clear zip lock snack bags. They are about half the size of zip lock sandwich bag. 1 for quarters & 1 for other change. They take up less space then the coin wallet & leave ample room for sunglasses.

I use one of those zip lock reusable 4x4 plastic bins without the lid. It fits perfect on top of one of the fold downs in the console. I use them in all the cars and love them. When it fills up every couple of months I dump it in a bag and then every couple of times a year cash it in. Its like money you were not expecting. I also put it below the trays and close the trays over it when valeying and what not.

I found a suitable resolution for my change holder woes. I had randomly stopped in at a Japanese Dollar store and found a soft case for a cell phone. It clips onto your air vent. I clipped it onto the vent closest to the driver's door and it hangs over the side mirror controls. I just dump my change in there and it stays put. I can take a pic if anyone would like. Oh yeah, it only cost $1!

I keep my sunglasses in there. And the coins would slide around and make noise while driving.

You'd think so, but I have coins in there and never hear them at all.

You know how inconvenient it is to try and dig for change in one of your pockets while driving with a seatbelt on???? Pretty damn inconvenient...

Of course, you're a "large bill only" kind of guy...

Where does everyone keep their sunglasses? I'm really disappointed there is no sunglass holder (besides the door pocket).

on my face! j/k. i've put a cleaning cloth in the bottom of the door pocket so they won't get scratched while in there.
