Reverse Tilt Passenger Mirror

Hi all,

This morning when I put the RDX in reverse the passenger mirror tilted down as usual but never went back to its normal position. I had to adjust it manually. Has this happened to anone else?

ummm.... okay, I must be really silly or just so numb to the functions of my RDX, ...

Does the rear view side mirror on the passenger side actually tilt down on reverse???

My TL has the option of choosing which mirror you want to tilt down when in reverse. You toggle the mirror selector switch to L or R (not the center position) and when you put the car in reverse, the appropriate side mirror tilts down to give you a better viewing angle of the curb.

I've heard the RDX only has the right side that does this, unlike the TL.

Just another thing that Acura decided to leave of the RDX.

It certainly does - but only when you have the switch to adjust the mirrors is on the passenger side mirror. I like it, but I've never had an issue with it returning to its normal position once the vehicle is back in drive.

Does the mirror still function properly otherwise? There are some notes in the service bulletins regarding failing mirrors....

To answer your question, this sounds odd and should probably be put on your "list to have the service tech look at".

I use this feature all the time - leaving my mirror switch set to "R" and it has always moved back into place once I shift from R to D....not sure why it wouldn't....?

The August, 2006 Acura service bulletin discusses problems and fixes for the right side mirror tilt-down feature. Look in the "problems & fixes" sub-forum for copies of the service bulletins.

ummmm...yes! Flick the side mirror switch to the R, right position, the mirror will flip down when you reverse.

This happened to me once with my 04 TL, turned out to be a blown fuse. Does the drivers side mirror still have power? The other symptom of the blown fuse (in the TL) was that the window washer sprayers stopped working. Hope this works, good luck.

Actually, I know how to activate rearview mirrors that tilt down on reverse, my previous BMW 330i had that standard feature... Thank you for your "Clarification"

I just didn't know the RDX came with that feature...
