The stock Z06 record is in the 10's on stock rubber. But we have to keep in mind, rare weather conditions (negative DA), perfect driving and track prep don't always happen. I'm sure plenty of Z06s are having trouble breaking in the 11's.

Hell yeah. They couldn't have been trying. Here's the deal. They let you have the slip because they didn't figure it would do anything. By the time they realized the RDX has a little pep to it, it wasn't worth trying to "redlight race" anyway.

Some jerk in a blue RDX tried me today. I ignored him for two traffic lights. He kept insisting in lining up next to me at every light. So he gave it a go from a dig. I have to admit it took off a little faster than I thought. He got me by two car lengths but I was at half throttle.

If it had been a real race where, I was actually interested, I would have smoked him or at least been even with him and I'm in a bone stock 02' CL-S.

 

Sideswipe, I am a former 01 CLS owner, and a current rdx owner. Nice story, but if the RDX was at WOT and you were at half throttle, it would smoke you. The CLS is certainly faster, expecially after about 10K miles. But come on.

 

I'm not getting your response. It seems to me you're stating the obvious. Anything on the road would have beaten me at half throttle. The point I was trying to make is even though I was only at half throttle the dude in the RDX could only get about two carlengths away from me, hence I would have wasted my time and gas if I had gone full throttle and actually raced the clown.

And for any RDX owners that would make the excuse that the guy in the RDX wasn't trying--he was. I had my windows down and clearly heard the dude gun it hard enough to spool up the tiny turbo. What a waste. I owned an Audi Q7 a few weeks ago without even getting out of first gear. I would have thoroughly embarrassed that idiot in RDX.

 

how do u know the other guy was at full throttle? cuz u could hear noise? holy shit...he must have been! seriously.

u talk like the rdx is a god damn school bus. thing rivals anything in acuras current lineup in terms of performance and its a TRUCK.

 

not to mention......bone stock type S 0-60 numbers are in the 6 second range...unless u can point me to other professional opinions with different numbers...... wow, amazingly the RDX is too. lol

6.7 is what im reading everywhere for ur 02 "bone stock" hmm i wonder what the numbers are for the RDX...

Honestly we should stop comparing the RDX to sport sedans and coupes even though the RDX drives like a sport sedan and handles better than a lot of the sedans out there.

Compare RDX to x3, fx, rx, cx, ml, WATEVER. JUST compare it to SUVs!!

I love my 2008 RDX, But it is not a fast accelerating vehicle!! I drove a Tailblazer SS before buying my RDX. The Trailblazer would kill the RDX form a dead stop and a roll. But as I said I bought the RDX.
Personally the handling and refinement of the RDX are where it shines for an SUV.
My 96 GrandSport Corvette is not even in the same league as the RDX. The performance of the Corvette is on a much higher playing field! And the 2008 505HP ZO6 that I have driven is not in the same league as my GrandSport. An even higher playing field!
Comparing apples to oranges my friends and I've driven all three and used to drag race an old 12 second Z28 Camaro!
But I"m not trashing the RDX as it is a wonderful, fun handling SUV for the money

 

If your definition is performance is simply accelleration, like most magazine racers, the TL is faster, and TL-S is even faster again.

 

with an SUV...yea id say acceleration is up there when im talking about performance. because certainly unless ur driving the porsche turbo, top speed has nothing to do with a truck.

 

add to that, the guy was talking about speed off the line. im not talking purely acceleration, but in this instance of RDX vs CL type S from 2002, yea it was purely acceleration.

I have not only heard a cls out my rolled down window, I drove one for 60,000 miles. I have >20,000 on the RDX, and at half throttle vrs full throttle, you'd be dusted.

The RDX is no sprint car, but neither is that cls.

 

hi every 1 iam a new member just bought a 07 rdx about 4 month now iam every happy with my rdx looking for new mod for it but.. as for cars i smoke so far none .. but very happy to say kept up with a cobolt ss.. i say head to head.. for a suv love it ..

 

Exactly my sentiments as well...

I don't think it really matters if the RDX smokes other cars at all... At the end of the day, the RDX is a fun driving, peppy small cross-over, designed to put a smile on your face, because it handles well, has the great SH-AWD, and provides some turbocharged excitement...

I smoked him on the street today... he smoked me on that street the other day... blah blah blah... what is the reward??? Want that kind of boost (or deflation) in your ego... get to the tracks and drag race it...
