Car price in Vancouver...
Car price in Vancouver...
I went to the stealership asking how much the price of the RDX with tech package is, and the sales guys would not go lower than 45000 CDN. How much lower do you guys think I can go? At least near the invoice price? And how do i bargain? can I go threaten them to go to another dealership?
You just missed the best window of opportunity. It was the end of month, end of quarter, end of year, winter, holiday season where people are spreading their disposable income all over the place and aren't as likely to buy a car.
You might not get much traction till the end of the month at this point.

I think what you have to do is show them that you have done a lot of research on the car and the market. That means you should show them that you have looked at and compared some other choices such as X3, CX7, Murano, etc. This forum I think is also a great tool. People have made many threads here that talk about the price they paid for the RDX. And I guess another way is to show the dealership that the sales figure of the RDX. Since the RDX isn't selling that well, I think they are willing to give you some discount. You might also try bargaining by using your email. That way you don't really have to waste them traveling around.
I told all the dealers everything I knew about the market for this car.
1. Only selling at 50% of Acura's goal
2. Hundreds of units sitting on dealer lots
3. Other dealerships already selling for invoice
That got things started, and then I got even lower by whipping out a printout of an email their internet manager sent to me offering a few hundred over invoice. When he told me he'd give me that price I showed him that the email was already 2 weeks old. They were happy to let me pay invoice at that point.

And I have a question for some of the dealers here - how do inter-dealer transfers work?

I managed $900 over invoice on a non-tech, in the Toronto area, and they threw in a few accessories, like winter mats, wheel locks, and the cargo net.
The trick is to go right at the end of the month. I find it can really help matters, even more so if the car you want is actually on the dealer's lot.

$37900?? That's a very good deal! But yea, I see quite a lot of RDXs here in Vancouver, BC. In fact, I see more RDXs then CX7s...which is quite different thant he States. I've also seen a few new MDXs too.
