hey guys! really new to this and not much of a mod guy. Love the idea of new springs but had a couple of questions

1. how long do OEM springs last? '08 104k miles
2. how much for labor? know anyone in western michigan for install? (i do not have adequate work space)
3. ATLP but its really Eibach??? Making fun of the new guy starts now

I am a serious candidate for purchase, just really need to get details before a purchase like this.

Thanks

people have been waiting years for them. if the idea interest you at all, i'd suggest jumping on it.

1. pretty long...but the point of the springs is to close that wheel gap.

2. labor should be significantly less than the price of the springs...i'd estimate an hours labor or so..

3. yes, eibach.

Well the springs are more for the drop rather than an OEM replacement. The oem springs are probably designed to last the life of the car but over time they will wear and weaken. Depending on the roads you drive on they can wear significantly faster. Id say at 104k miles they are fine but mine has 101k km on and im getting them... never a bad idea to replace the springs if you have the cash. Like I said its more for the drop and for a slight improvement in handling.

Id say at least $300 to get them swapped in a shop.

Yes they are made by eibach, pretty sure ATLP did the development though.

Is anyone considering doing the swap themselves?

Im not sure they could do a swap of the springs in an hour... the swap on my TL was pretty expensive.

I might do them myself. Depending on how busy I am when they come. My rdx has 56,000 kms on it. I am changing them to go lower with still being pretty comfy and to reduce the wheel gap

You can count me in for a set of these. I won't be able to pay until 3/16/13 which is when I get my bonus paycheck. But I am good for it. I also am a part of the ets tmic group buy and paid over a month ago for that.

Count me in on a set of the Eibach's. Also, once payment is sent... is Heel Toe keeping payment monies until an order of 10 is confirmed? What if 10 is not reached until next year? Does that mean we lose our money for a year without the product?

How do i pay?

7 of us have paid. Only 3 left to go.

Go to heeltoe's website and under the RDX will list parts available.

Select the Springs and add to cart

Checkout like normal websites

Use acurazinerocks promo code

I just ordered mine on the 1st along with Blitz In-Cabin filter.

Follow the instructions CR-X SIR-T posted above.

Here is a link to them directly as well.

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/atlp-spor...h-springs.html

I am hoping it will not take much longer to get 10 paid orders. They do hold the money till they order them. Right now we have 7. If you paid now we would have 8 paid. That would mean we only need 2 more.

TRQLESS is ordering and paying on March 16th. So we only need 1 more to pay. There are 3 more people who placed orders but did not pay yet so hopefully one of them pays.

I am hoping we can have 10 paid by the 16th. So if you are seriouslty interested now would be the time to make this happen. Post up here if you order and pay so we can keep a count going.

Thanks for the payment instruction guys!

Before i go ahead and put an order through, I'd like to make sure that the tires i plan on getting will fit the RDX after installation of Eibach's.

Your opinions would be really appreciated!

I am planning on getting 245/45-R20 with 20" rims with an offset of 20. This would make each wheel stick out 30mm from OEM and also, the tire is around 1.8% larger in diameter. I am concerned that with Eibach's, these wheels will rub against the fender.. can you guys give me your opinions if i am safe with these tires/wheels and Eibach's? or should i reconsider my wheel/tire choice?

I am using the same size. 245/45/20 My rims are 20x10 + 40 though. I dont anticipate any issues with mine. Your rims will stick out 20 more mm than mine. The eibach springs lower the front 1.3 and the rear 1.0. Does anyone else know if +20 will fit?

Was thinking about this some more. What width are the rims. and are you planning on rolling your fenders?

The rims i plan to use are 8.5" only.. i have 2 choices right now for tire sizing:

1) 245 / 45 / 20 with 8.5" rims +20 offset

or

2) 255 / 45 / 20 with 8.5" rims +40 offset

Again, question was whether option 1 with Eibach springs would rub against fenders as they will stick out 30mm over stock? And also they are 1.8% larger in diameter.

What are your thoughts on option 2? would these rub against fenders? as they are 3.05% larger in diameter over stock and would stick out 15mm more than stock.

And no, i don't plan on rolling my fenders.

It gets snowy and salty here in winter and don't want them to rust (in the instance the paint cracks along the fenders when rolling them).

I just checked my rims specs. Mine EXTEND an extra 35mm from stock and They should fit fine with 245/45/20. They do not stick out from the fender. I was thinking of getting 255/40/20. But am leaning towards the 245/45/20 to be safe.

Your 8.5 +20 would EXTEND an extra 36mm. So I imagine you would be fine. As long as the tires size is within 3 percent it is fine. I try to stay within 2 percent though just for personal preference.

I am not sure of the offset for user65's RDX. But he has 20x8.5 with eibach springs. He also has 275/40/20 tires and I don't believe he has any issues. Check out his pic in link below.

Yeah, I hear you on that. I am in Toronto. So always trying to keep it clean and clear of snow and salt. Don't want to roll my fenders either.

What was the tire size and rim combination you were going with? I read above that you were going with 245/45/20 with 10" rims and +40 offset?.. the 10" rims are wider than the tires.

And from my calculation, a setup of 245/45/20 with 8.5" rims and +20 offset would extend 30mm outwards from stock OEM. (this assumes stock 18" rims offset is +45mm<-- got that from another post in this forum).

I have a set of OZ Canyon ST Wheels 20x9.5 5x120 +40 with 245/45 20 tires. These will no way come close to rubbing with 1.3" drop front or 1" rear. The RDX ride height also increased slightly. Hope this helps. I will post pics soon.

Only 2 more paid buyers needed with 1 guaranteed buyer on the 16th.

Don't forget to use acirazinerocks code for a discount.

I just got an email stating that Heel Toe has reached their minimum order requirement.

Has anyone else received this confirmation as well?

Also, anyone know how long it will take to fabricate and ship?

It might just be a automated message? There are 13 orders. But only 9 of us have paid by my count. They need 10 paid. I asked Marcus to confirm the amount that have paid. He said he is out of the country this week and will verify the amount paid when he returns.

So I hopefully he will email me or come in here and post the amount who have paid. He said it takes 90 days for production. But hopefully it takes less time than that.

Thanks

keep as close to stock OD as possible, or you'll have issues with the AWD if you ever need to use your spare.

That's a good point about the AWD system and the spare tire Bighatch. I didn't even think of that.

how easy is changin to Eibach's of a DIY?

I perform my own fluid changes, painted my calipers (front & back), changed to CP-E cold air, and changed to an ETS TMIC.

What i couldn't do myself is change the intake heat shield gasket.

Given what i have done myself, is my skill level adequate enough to change to Eibach's?

I'm assuming you'd need a spring compressor...I can't speak to it, as i've never done that. I think there may be some write ups on here somewhere of installing the BC coilovers...That might give you a better idea.

I was thining of doing them myself to but I dont know if the multi-link suspension will be an issue at all.

Heres a video from might car mods that shows how to install lowered springs... not really the most relevant to the rdx but its an entertaining video and it shows you whats involved in changing springs and what tools youll need.

I just shipped out my ecu to hondata for reflash and now i am interested on these springs..

Is this in production now or are you guys still needing a 10th person?

If it is in production how many are going to be available?

I want to order one now so badly..

We're about to start production. We currently have 9 paid orders with a 10th confirmed coming on the 16th which would start production. If you put in an order earlier the production will start earlier.

Is this in production now or are you guys still needing a 10th person?

If it is in production how many are going to be available?

I want to order one now so badly..
As swzed said. If you want in. You can order now and pay. Production would start sooner hopefully. Post up if your order do we can keep track.

The more the merrier.

Thanks
