Acura RDX CP-E Downpipe

Trying to generate some interest on this item made by CP-E.

This will be a one time thing, if I can get 15+ people with 30% down payment we can get this item rolling.

I've ordered the ATLP exhaust and it's taking an awful long time. Trying to get another item on the roll.

I know this should belong in the Performance section, however this forum is dead as it is.

Please post some replies on this thread!

Josh Adams from CP-E told me to link you guys to their site and look at their BMW, as well as Mazda products.

Both of those, and many of their other products show great performance gain. Again, the site is http://www.cp-e.com

Please! I really want this downpipe!!!

If you guys really want to get this made let me know. We have a direct relationship with CP-E and we have talked about the RDX downpipe and exhaust before but we need to see how many ppl are actually interested. If you want an idea of what the exhaust system and downpipe will be like check out these other CP-E parts:

You should cancel that ATLP EXHAUST and go with the CHURCH exhaust you could be rolling with a better exhaust by now .

Everyone who is ready to purchase a downpipe please put your name on the list.

1.
2.
3.

etc

Once we get enough ppl I can move forward with CP-E to get more solid info and hp gains and pricing. I'm going to have buy at least 20-30 of these at a time so I need to see at least 15 ppl on this list.

But!.. I'm terribly fond of the downpipe designed by Pang. Are you, guys, sure that CP-E will be ready to manufacture such a non-compromised part?

Pang has had the flanges (maybe around 8 sets) sitting about from as far back as Aug'08, and still can't either find the time, or get to borrow the car from his wife ( its her RDX ), to remove the one seen above, to make the jig to produce the down pipes!
Its a beautiful piece, wish he'd hurry up about it.... or someone for that matter!
Sooo..... we continue to wait.

I don't think that there are any clips of the RDX with this mod. The only clips that I have seem are the ones of the/a cat-back exhaust. It would'nt be much louder than stock though.
As for the warranty well I dunno.

It hasn't been made yet so we can't say how loud it will be but generally a downpipe doesn't create much more noise at all.

Changing exhaust pipes shouldn't void the warranty; see the Magnusson Moss Act.

The thing I'm the most concerned with is install. That guy who make his own downpipe mentioned it was a decently involved install.

If it was a simple crawl under the car, undo a few bolts and swap in the new part - it would be a no brainer for me, but if it was much more involved (i.e. a Subaru Uppipe), I might be less inclinded to tinker.

The warranty can not be voided, but the warranty service can be denied due to the downpipe. Your options would be find a mod friendly dealer or don't change your downpipe.

Some have said that there is a definate increase in performance and change in exhaust note. But I can guarantee that you will see that increase two fold with only just replacing the 2 cats with straight through pipes i.e. a downpipe and mid pipe replacement!

Replacement of the down pipe would require jacking up the car and putting it on stands. disconnecting the exhaust at the joint in front of the second cat, then from the engine compartment, removal of the intercooler to get to the bolts on the back of the turbo. Disconnecting those and then tist n turning the down pipe (cat) to get it out through the engine compartment. Remembering to unplug the two 02 sensors.
Its not that hard and can be done with regular tools and some WD40 to help loosen exhaust bolts. Just a bit time consuming!
Remembering from how Pang described the job!
