tokico clunking

alright, i just dropped the car on tokico hp's and an eibach pro kit (i swear its dropped more than 1.5") i'll post pics soon. there is a slight clunking coming from the back on some bumps (not necessarily big ones, just when it hits right i guess) anyone else experience this, and is it something to worry about.

secondly, the shop that put the suspension in said my wheels (oz superleggera) are missing trim rings. 1) what are they 2)did they come with the wheels or is it something you buy after 3) do i need them and 4) where do i get them

thanks in advance guys

I got tokico hp's and they dropped me wayyy lower than I expected (on CT springs)

I get a weird noise when I hit bumps hard at low speeds... if I pull too fast into my driveway it makes a noise when I hit the bump between the driveway and the road. Its a more of a quick 'BANG' than a clunk though.

You could either be scraping on those bumps, or maybe you need to trim some fenderwell trim. I would just take it back to the shop that did the work and have them look at it again.

BTW, Knight Rider kicks ass!!!

or they put the mounting rubber on incorrectly.

the rubber bushing pieces that are on the suspension assembly. if they are not put on correctly the whole shock travels to much and can cause a clunk... at least that is what was wrong with mine.

I guess I'm just rubbing. I didn't expect that with comptech springs.

I have the noise when backing out of the driveway just on the right rear. It sounds like a loose bolt bang, but it's not a rub, or a bump. Just a bang. It's when you hit a small bump. This is very annoying and I will not want to just live with it.

I went in with wrenches and sockets and retorqued all of the nuts, but still does it. I think I know what it is, but do not know what to do about it. When on jacks and no weight on the springs, they seem loose on their perch. Perhaps during the moment of weightlessness, the spring rattles on the perch. Maybe my weight on the left side keeps it from happening, but my lighter son on the right side lets the suspension go into that weightlessness for a moment. Maybe I need to put people in the back seat and see if it changes.

The car handles beautifully, but I want to get these bugs worked out before I get it aligned. I just don't want to have to disturb the alignment after it's finished.

Update

I installed the silencer tubes, and the clunking noise is gone. Total time for install (5 min) Total cash for silencers ($20)

These are a must to finalize the job. After spending all of the cash on the job, it shouldn't sound like some bolts were left loose.

Unlikely that those bushings will clunk as they are made to fit very close tolerance, and when tightened....just no way.

The springs will clatter though and sound like clunking. Try the silencers
