window regulator replacement - easy fix for a novice!
I wanted to thank everyone for the detailed information and instructions posted about replacing the window regular. I bought a 94-97 Accord Coupe window regulator on ebay (seller: panthercoug) and it fit perfect, auto-down works. The window flies down but seems like it goes up slower than before (but maybe I'm imagining it).
Just a couple things I thought I would share with others about my experience.
(1) Removing (and replacing) the door panel was the most time consuming and somewhat frustrating part of the whole process.
(2) When disconnecting the green power lead to the power mirror switch - pop out the swtich (square box, comes right out) then disconnect or reconnect the plug. Much easier than trying to fish it through that hole.
(3) When replacing the door panel, unscrew the two screws holding the door handle and lock. This makes it easier to angle the door panel back on without the door handle getting in the way.
(4) If you use the 94-97 Accord Coupe regulator, you will need three 10mm nuts to attach to the motor. The stock regulator motor had holes and bolts that went into it. Mine bolts riveted into the mounting plate that lined up with the holes in the door. Went to a local hardware store and got 3 10mm nuts for $0.19 a piece. Works fine, very secure.
If you are not mechanically inclined, don't worry this wasn't that hard. This is most extensive car repair I have ever done and it was relatively easy with some sweat and some help from another set of hands.
Thanks again to everyone who provided the install guide and door panel removal and other helpful hints.
