How do you know it's not working? SOHC VTEC on the D and F series is shitty and quiet. You can barely hear it with an intake and makes almost no noticeable difference in the powerband.

Here's the solenoid.

Thanks...

I assume its not working because my car is kicking in and out when I try to accelerate pass 4000rpm.

Also I've had an oil leak from my distributor (2 quarts per full tank) for over a year which I let get too low last month. Since that day I'm getting code P1259 even after i topped of the oil.

In addition, about a month prior to the 4000 rpm issue, I cracked a gray connector located directly below the distributors left side (which screws into the engine block) thats full of oil dripping from the distributor. I just kinda pushed it back into the connector.

All in all The car drives fine. I simply can't pass 4000rpm in any gear since this occurred. I was thinking of cleaning the vtec solenoid filter, or checking the connection to the oil pressure sensor if someone can tell me where the sensor is located...

Any input to help resolve is GREATLY appreciated!

You should still be able to take the engine to redline even without VTEC engaging. Do you have a CEL?
