Wheel Stud Replacement

Hey all,

So I am looking to replace a wheel stud on my right front wheel. The lug was improperly put on and it stripped the stud.

I searched but couldn't find a write up or anything on how to do this. I have never done this before, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

No one knows? Or is it that easy of a job haha... I looked on HT and it shows a method, but not sure if it's the same for us.

Im assuming we have to take the rotors off right?

Is it a '97? If so need to pull the rotor to take of the hub plate that the studs are pressed into.

Yeah it's a 97. I figured it was just taking off those things and then just getting a BFH and giving her a nice hit to get it out.

There might be a "window" from behind the rotor you can access removing the stud from. It's going to be a PITA without it off the car though. You'll have to remove the 4 bolts that hold the hub plate to the rotor - if I remember it's a 14mm - use a 6 point socket not a 12 point. I remember taking mine of with a 12 point and 1 bolt out of 4 stripped. The hub plate will now turn independantly of the rotor. Now get behind there and see if you there is a window to push the old stud out of and push the new one into.

Going to attempt this as well this week. I have 2 that need replacement, but my 97 has 98 knuckles so it should be easier. I can take pics but not too good with the write up stuff.

You have the 98 rotors? Then it'll be easy for you - as in count your lucky stars easy - I had to pull my rotors a month or so back and what a pain in the arse!

Gonna have to deal with that soon as my wifes 95 accord needs new rotors soon and it's the same setup(hub over rotor). That's exactly why I bought 98 knuckles out of a junked 98 cl to avoid any further headaches.
