What transmission is in 98 Cl 3.0?

I'm wondering what transmission is in my 1998 Acura Cl 3.0? I think its either a B7ZA or an M7ZA... Can anyone provide any insight?

I don't think the transmission you mention is quite the same. In 1999 the 3.2 TL had a four speed sportshift automatic. In 2000 they changed to a 5 speed sportshift. It's very possible it will fit though, since all J series motors have compatible dimensions. You'd have to ask someone with more mechanical experience than I possess to be sure though.

The 99-03 TL had major transmission problems. So swapping a 99 tranny in your CL might not be such a good idea. I had my tranny replaced 4 years ago at 74,000 miles. I now have 138,000 miles and my tranny has been acting up since 100,000 miles, so after 26,000 the damn thing went sour again. Good thing I am going back overseas it will be sitting in the garage until it's time to trade it in for a 08 TL Type S. See if you're able to do a CL Type S swap. Honda makes better stick shifts then autos.

Hmm, wonder if there's a cut-off date. My 98 has an M7ZA in it.
