Anyone have a problem with water getting into the trunk after it rains? I have an ongoing problem with it and just wonder if this is a common problem with our CL's. I use to park it in the garage so that wasn't really a problem, but when I can't it gets wet inside the trunk area.

Pretty common problem. Two possibilities. First, replace the foam gaskets underneath the lens assys. This is usual cause of leaks. I've tried adding RTV to help seal and had no luck. New foam gaskets are best fix.

Second is leaking lens assy. If this is problem you will notice moisture in the lens assys.

good luck

Thanks, I'll check it out and make a replacement foam gasket for it. Hope it works.

where is the water sitting in your trunk? cuz i'm trying to figure out where mine is leaking from, it's only in the passenger side and in the corner of the trunk, so i guess it's either what texas honda said or it sould be some sort of water coming in from my fender cuz it had a lot of rust on it before.

There is also another possibility. There is a hose on each corner of the sun roof. there is a possibility that it might have rubbed through and is leaking the water into the trunk

It could be your trunk seal

Does it happen only after driving it or both after driving and sitting?

Yes, it's on the passenger side as well and only in the corner.

I checked the trunk seal and it seems good, no cranks and looks fine. I just checked it out this morning and it seems like it is coming from a seam right above the light that is not properly sealing. I'm going to use some sealant on it and see if it goes away. Only really happens when sitting in the rain I guess, but I guess it could also leak when I drive too.

Do you have a spoiler? If so unbolt it and check those seals, water can easily get in through those holes.

i suggest for now, till you can find the source of the leak, take out your carpet.

^ if his leak is the same as mine then there shouldn't be a need for removing the carpet as the water only collects in the corner where the jack sits and the carpet doesn't go right into the corner. And i'm pretty sure that it's not coming from anywhere else cuz i noticed mine when i had the entire trunk stripped of the carpet and panels, and there was no damp carpet when i took it out or put it back in that i remember. I just want to know if there is anything by the rear passenger fender that could be leaking or if my first thought could be true (that the fender could rust so much to the point that there could be a whole where water could come into the trunk) Oh and mine i noticed it after i was driving and the car did not sit in the rain. But you could check your carpets for dampness if you really want to, all you have to take off are those circular clips, and then put em back on when you're done, easy as that

hella dead brthah, but dont sweat it, some dudes will bust you balls cause they are assholes, lol.
did you try e-bay or if not an acura dealer would be my guess. mine leaks to, water in the spare tire well but i dont give 2 shits, i cut out the carpet and the heavy ass cardboard in the trunk so after it rains i just wipe the water out. im going to fix it but i have a priority list and putting in these RSX seats i just drove 1500km's to get.
good luck bro.

dealer only, at least that's the only place they are worth getting from. it's a wear item, get brand new. anything you get used or aftermarket might give you the same issues or bigger problems.go with oem and be confident it will get back together correctly.
