Tranny problem

hi

I have 99 Cl 3.0, I have experienced this weird thing

when i park my car on slope for more then 2 hrs & then try to back up (Shift in to Reverse) it give a big Jerk. What it could be? It doesn’t do it when the car parked on flat surface & I shift in to reverse

what you guy think ? what it could be ? is my tranny going bed or what ?
beside that it seems to work fine

That jerk may be the locking pin disengaging. When you shift into park, a pin locks the transmission in place to keep your car from rolling. On an incline you should apply the parking brake before shifting into park.

I do this all the time (even on flat surfaces) just out of habit. It will save wear and tear on the locking mechanism.
