Temperature Gauge has gone nuts!

I just notice this happening this past week. My temperature gauge is up 75-80% hot close to overheating when im in stop and go traffic or just sittting at a steady idle after the car is warm, but when im driving at a steady constant or just driving in the city past 20mph my temperature gauge is a the normal temperature. (around 25-30% up from cold)

I checked the radiator fluid and both radiator and the reserve were both full. No leaks.

Any reccomendations????

i had this same thing happen to me and the dealer said it was because of a air bubble in the coolant line, they got rid of it but they said if it happened again to just turn the a/c all the way up for about 3 minutes and it should return to normall, its basically just a false read. Still tho bring it to the dealer to get it checked

i agree with shiney,,, fans or thermostat.

isnt it nice to own a honda.. all the complaints are simple shit like oooh my thermostat is stuck.. or my window regulator broke.. at 150k miles... go to the ford site and its why did my engine blow up. why is this car such a piece of shit and i only have 90k miles on it.

i love the svt contour forums 90% of the modded ones are blown up.. they lbow up from a 50 shot for gods sake.....

or they blow up by themself becuase if your flooring it and take a sharp right turn the 2.5 will starve itself of oil (bad pan design) and cash itself lol gotta love fords

the verdict is thermostat went bad.
$45.00 thermostat from acura plus new radiator fluid.

always remember when you change your thermostat to change when the car is completly cold or else it radiator fluid will explode all over you.

i think the radiator cap gives you the warning..but hahah Lolz...did it explode on you? you can always use a thick big cloth when you twist it off. only for people who are desperate and need fluid in their system.

$45? Wow.

If you know where it's located (usually on the backside of the motor on the block...though I'm not sure on a V6), it's like an $8 piece plus maybe the same for a bottle of anti-freeze.
