Car is stuck in park. I've changed the brake light switch, checked fuses. lights work, and i can use the shift lock to manually override. I've been checking forums for the past few days and trying everything i've found anybody know what i could do?

 

Only other car i seen do something similar was a 1992 Honda Accord and the linkage was bad.

 

There's a solenoid that releases the shifter that is more than likely the problem. If you take off the console around the shifter, you'll see the mechanism below and slightly forward of where you insert the key to manually release the shifter.
