Unhappy Steering/Brakes?

Hello everyone.

Have the following issue...

When braking, at any speed from 50kmh and up, get rather hard vibrations on the steering wheel.
The car stops, but what happens isnt healty. Car doesnt pull to the right, or to the left... Started probably about 1 year ago... Tried different things, sometimes it would go away for a month or so, but then would come back.

What I've done:
*New tire rod end (whatever is the right spelling - im sure you guys know what im talking about)
*New disks and break pads
*Alignment was done, but will do it again bc brake job was done just recently.
*New tires on front.

Buddy of mine says that the next thing he would look at is a power steering rack.
Would it be the cause? Anything else that i can check?

Also, few month ago my SRS light came on... when i was parked and idling in the middle of the parking lot. WTH? where to look for this one?

Any ideas at all? Im just tired of all those annoing things on otherwise very nice car...

Thanks

are your tires good? bad tires will cause that, or even if they're not balanced properly.

Go to the DIY section, I did a write up on how to reset the SRS light.

Saiko

As i said, brand new tires on front wheels. Balanced too.
I dont think the rear tires matters (right?).

And i will try the SRS reset over the weekend, post here the results...

also, forgot to add. brand new upper control arms (those triangular shaped things with upper ball joint).

Hey there.
As I said (maybe because of my wording - i wrote "disks" when i meant "rotors"), rotors have been replaced. Some time ago I also blamed rotors, had them checked, and they were warped. I had them machined - didn't make any difference whatsoever. Few month after that i decided to replace them anyway. So, rotors are new - couple of month old.

Follow-up question on SRS reset. I found the connector, but can't pull it out. Any suggestions, other then disconnecting fuse box, and taking a peek at the connector in less restrictive conditions?

you don't have to disconnect the fuse box man, it's a dummy plug on the inside of the dash, right above your left foot.

I found the plug. I just cant pull it out. I dont know if there are clips on 3 sides, or if the connector fused with the plug, or what... i had a buddy of mine who used to work in car audio/video install shop to try it - he couldnt get it out either.

ok. checked your link again, see that instead of disconnecting it on the fuse box, where i was trying to do, it shows that you disconnected it somewhere in the middle... ill try it later today

ok, the guide talkes about disconnecting yellow cable from the fuse box.
Your last post suggests disconnecting it somewhere in the middle.
now, those seem to be 2 different connectors.
is it safe to mess around?

no.

the connector IS NOT ON THE FUSE BOX.

Get on your back, under the dash, and look toward where the front of the dash is. There is a yellow connector sitting inside a dummy plug. The dummy plug DOES NOT connect to anything, it's just there to hold the connector.

It is on the lower left corner, follow the big box to where the little box is. It's right there.

sounds like you need to bring it somewhere and have it looked at.
