start up.... or lack thereof

Hey,
Alright so this is a problem I have been experiencing lately. Sometimes I cant get me car to start. I push the clutch in, turn the key to the first position, everything turns on just fine, but when i go to tun over the engine it doesnt even crank. It happened yesterday and after the first try, I tried to crank it over two more times then waited a few minutes and tried again. This time it started. I'm thinking this could be a clutch problem or starter problem? I dont think its a battery problem. Anyone have any ideas???
Thanks

I've been getting a similar thing... I'm pretty sure the way to check the clutch sensor is to let the clutch out, and listen. Mine makes a different sound with the clutch out rather than clutch in. I'm thinking mine is the starter, but I have no idea...

I saw that post... I still have that problem... I tried it the day after I saw your thread, and it worked like the first couple times, and after that, it was back to life as usual, where I had to wait and then try 3-5 times for it to start...

im sure you guys are familar with the sound thats made when you try to start a car thats already on. sometimes i get that when i start my car and no i dont hold the key too long. this is why im leaning toward the starter. i had my clutch done about 8 months ago and i think they f-cked it up.
and thanks mitch i will try what you said. i apperciate the feedback

no problem,
my problem might be different from yours tho, cuz my car would make no noise whatsoever when i tried to start it, i just wanted to clarify that for you so you don't think that the clutch sensor part would be the main problem
good luck
