Ey everyone, I just bought me a 97 CL 3.0 and for some reason my speedometer only sometimes work...Imma lil concerned cause it seems like when doesn't work at time, I think my fuel gauge doesn't work either...so I need a lil help, this is my first posting so hopefully I get some feedback...thanks guys...

 

does ur D4 light blink after driving for a while? if so it could be the speed sensor which is located on the far far back side of the tranny

 

Have you pulled the cluster out before? I'd check that everythings plugged in right back there first if two of your gauges are coming and going

 

About that VSS being on the far back side of the tranny...Can I get to it from the front of the car looking into the engine bay or do I have to access it from under the car. Exactly what side of the engine (on the far far back side) is it located? Drivers or Passengers? How far back....to the firewall or below? It's a front wheeler so it can't be too far back since the transmission doesn't extend past the front wheels.

 

sometimes these clusters start to act a little wacky. double check connections and clean terminals if needed. sometimes corrosion will give a bad connection. now if everything isn't working; look into a new cluster.
