Hello

the last 2 weeks ive been hearing something that sounds like mice talking on the passenger seat side of the car while the air vents are going..not constant but comes and goes often.last night i parked and ran the vents on high with hood up hoping to hear it and as usual nothing happens when ur ready for it..

any ideas what it could be???mayb a fan belt is gonna break or sumthn??
only happens when the vents are on either a/c on or off (doesnt matter)....sounds like its coming from the top dashboard but basically in that vicinity...

gonna have oil change etc this coming weekend but am wondering if sumthn is gonna blow up before hand...

its the blower motor...mine does it occasionally also

it'll be the blower motor, if you want to fix it, you will have to replace it, all sealed one unit so unable to service it at all

there's a video in the thread, but the audio didn't pick up the squealing it did too, same thing as yours, on and off, just got more frequent and worse and worse till i couldn't stand it anymore

thanx for the insight mates....i still havent got the oil change etc..got the flu instead so will take care of it once im back to normal..

can i expect sumthn to break??what happens when it does stop working (out of curiosity)

blower motor acura cl 2.3 99??i did that and i see honda civic fits acura etc..
just planning ahead.

 

also does heat blower or a/c blower mean 2 differnt things or are they the same?

 

the fan is the same one for both (at least has always been on every car I have changed the blower motor on), it just blows the air, the temp controls is what determines if its blowing hot or cold
