Replacing timing belt / crank seal?
When I got under my car last weekend to replace the drive belts I noticed a small oil leak under the crank pulley. My guess is it’s the crank seal? I had the timing belt changed at a Midas about 80K miles ago (big mistake) and my guess is they did not replace the seal. I know that the seal is included with timing belts off of ebay:

So I take it replacing the crank seal is not a big deal once you are in there doing the timing belt change? I’ll get some pics of the leak this weekend. I plan to do the timing belt sometime in sept…
Thanks!

there is a tool for removal of the seal, but you can just pry it out of the orifice. be careful not to scratch up the mating surfaces of the engine.. when you put the new one in just be careful not to put it in at an angle. try to get it as straight as you can with your fingers, then tap it in going around in circles. or use a big socket to make it go in evenly. good luck pimpin.
