rattling noise from engine?

rattling noise from engine?

i have a rattling noise comming from my engine. to me it kind of sounds like water boiling or maybe something is loose in the engine itself any ideals? has anyone heard of this? I have done a search and found only 1 thred but it didn't help.

1997 acura cl 3.0

hey you're pretty close to me.
water boiling would be the radiator overheating.

Check the heatshield on the cat convertor that rattles a lot on cl's

hey yeah you are pretty close thats cool good to see some locals on this forum!!

i know its not the the radiator or overheating all that is fine it sound like its comming from the engine block maybe. it kinda sounds like what ever is rotating in the engine my be loose??

how do you tighten it up? where are the bolts located? is it easy to do?

i forgot exactley where the bolts are. you should have no problem finding them though. but before i put my straight pipe on, i just removed the heatshield itself, along with everyother heatshield for the exhaust systen. and my rattling went away.

you took the heatshields off. i mean all of them.
