Pulsing Lights on 98 CL

I have a 98 CL 3.0. I have noticed that the dash lights pulse when I drive the car. At night, the headlights pulse as well. I have an aftermarket amplifier hooked up to a subwoofer, and it is wired into the fuse box. Could that be causing the problem? Anyone else dealth with this problem? Thanks!

Yes sir...you 're gunna need either an alternator or battery. Go to a gas station or garage and ask them to check the charge on your battery. with systems, this is a common problem. Upgrading your battery would be a good thing if you're rollin around blarrin your system everywhere(like me). What're you runnin?

I'm running just a 12" Rockford Fosgate with a Kenwood 350 watt amp. Nothing super fancy, but it adds some nice bass. Thanks for the info!

Even with the cap, the lights will pulse if you have your headlight on, and if you use an accesory at the same time. For instance, when the radiator fan turns on, when your turn signal is on, when you hit the window switch, when you turn the ac on, etc. the lights will dim and then reappear. It is a common problem with these cars and has to do with poor grounding and/or voltage regulation. I heard good things about grounding kits from .net, which will stop the problem and also give you a little performance gain. Otherwise, the voltage regulator is an internal part of your alternator, you could try and get a new alt and see if it helps. I should tell you that I changed my alt, and the problem went away... for a week and then it came back. I think Mach3.0SiR was making his own ground wires, you could ask him all about it.
