The other day, my window was a tad cracked and i slammed it kind of hard and i heard a bang. I tried putting it up or down but all i heard was the motor, and the window wasnt moving. It can slide up and down, but when i slide it up there is resistance. I took my door panel off and found a wire hanging off. I have no idea what it is for nor where it came from. It looks like it has to wrap around something and is a relay to put the window up and down. Anyone know anything about this? Is it part of the whole assembly? Would I be able to fix it?

 

Is it the cable from the window regulator? If so, you have to replace the whole thing.

yes, the regulator is the whole assembly- cable, motor, and slide in one piece.

 

My window rolled down slowly but in the end, it kinda made some "rough" noise and it never came back up. All I can hear is a cable rolling and the motor but the window remains where it is. I had to pull the window up (could not pull it all the way up) to drive back. I am sure it is the regulator. Can I but a 97 2.2 cl regulator for my 98 3.0? It is for the passenger side.
