Oil Filter Change

I rarely use the CL now so it been a hile since I changed the filter. Over the weekend I drove the car up my ramp to change the filter, though there had got to be an easier way other that pay some one to do it. Other than lifiting the car and reaching up does any one have any tricks to make it easier?

if its a 3.0 you dont even have to lift just crank the wheels to the left all the way and you can reach the filter and drian plug from the side of the car. thats how i do my oil change, i could go through the trouble of racking it up on a lift at work, but this way works just fine.

This has one been one of the easiest car to do oil & filter change. I, too, have a 3.0.

Make sure you put the new filter on as tight as you can with your hands and put the plug back on pretty damn tight too or it will leak. My 2.2 takes about 5 Liters

dont overtighten the filter if you do then when the next oil change comes around the filter will be tough to remove. the correct way to tighten the oil filter is; thin film of oil on filter seal, spin on filter till seal touches block and starts feelin a bit snug, then turn filter BY HAND 1/4 turn more that should seal just fine and will be removable by hand when next service comes around. as far as the drain plug dont overtighten that either if you do you can strip the threads on the pan
