o2 sensor, hollowd cat

Hey guys. I hollowd the cat converter and it is tripping the 2nd o2 sensor (verified with diagnostic) is there anyway to trick the ecu so that it wont put that mocking yellow light on ?

No, the secondary o2 sensor is there to verify that the exhaust gas coming out of the cat is different than the gas going in. If there is a discrepency between these two points then all is good, but if the gas is the same going in and out then the ECU goes "hold up, the cats not working right throw the light!" I think there are some electronic o2 cheaters you can buy or something but really with the technology they have for making hi-flo cats now why not just get one of those and not worry about it?

you can use an O2 extension that you can make out of spark plug defoulers or order on ebay...the check engine light is pretty blinding lol

Ok. I put on the defoulers. Looked like it was going to work after 300 miles, and then....the yellow light. Does anyone have an idea as to why it sensed the same airflow? I put on 2 defoulers.

you left the one hole on the second defouler alone right? like you didnt make it bigger? The only thing i could think of is if the hole is too big and letting in too much exhaust. did you reset the code with a scanner or disconnect the batt cables?

Yes, I only drilled out 1 of the defoulers. I reset it with a scanner. But now I have driven another 500 with no light. Maybe its gone for a while. My father has a nsx and it only trips the light every 3000 miles. but he has no defoulers on.
