hi guys when i bought the car the abs light was on and the abs was not working now its the winter time before its snows i need to fix the abs problem.what i have notice that there is a gas bottel near abs unit and its look like some one tryed to did glue on the top where the screw goes and on the bottom so do u think its not working because of that?

It's best to grab the ABS Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) to help diagnose the issue.

What looks like glue is some RTV they put on that seam between the accumulator (bottle) and the modulator.

Is your reservoir empty? If yes, and you see evidence of leaks beneath the modulator, there is a TSB for repairing body hex plugs that were undertorqued during original assembly.

Codes requested by Nakimichi are the way forward.

to be honest the thing you are saying its going from my head...lol well when you open the hood on the right handside there is abs brake system and there is some thing which is full of fluid .next to that there is long steel like bottle which warns about Gas pressure that one from the bottom its look like glued and on top of the steel bottle in the middel there is a bolt which is a glued round it too.i dont know may be some one tryed to fix before or its leak i touched that glue stuff it look like golden transparent but it was hard.well i test my car the abs is not working only the front brakes are working.

 

TexasHonda you are right its ABS Accumulator .i checked the fluid is in good level.what do you think what should i do?do u think because of this my car abs is not working?how can i find out that ABS Accumulator is working or not?

 

You must get the ABS code/s as Nakimichi directed. W/O the code it's just guessing at the problem. I checked the links provided by Nakamichi and they are very good directions. Post and one of us should be able to supply some guidance on the problem.

I have ABS light problems as well. I've replaced my master cylinder, bleed my breaks 3 times to find air and still couldn't find the problem. My breaks are fine but that damn light is intimidating.

 

Get your code/s as Nakimichi advised.
