ok so i have a acura 2.3 cl (99) it has been burning anti-freeze a lot lately and now when i put anti-freeze in the reserve tank it's gone by the end of the day. not only that i can drive about two or three miles and the temp gauge is on hot. now it's smoking whenever i park it. anyone have any idea whats up with my car??? i have noticed some antifreeze smells when i get out, like it's in the air and stuff and when i looked under the hood the other day it looked like anti-freeze had been spraying around under the hood...

 

So you're smelling the maple syrup smell? I'd guess it's either a bad thermostat, cracked rad, or blown headgasket.

 

word. check your hoses too. If you can find the source of the leak and you will find your problem. Also, look for white smoke out the tailpipe which would indicate a blown head gasket. could also be a leaky radiator or water pump. where in the engine compartment did you see coolant?
