iac valve

iac valve

cel just came on. scanned it. and got a code of p0505. cleared the code too. looks like the iac valve does anyone kno how to clean or replace it for a low to medium cost. lets see if the cel come son again. most likely it will come on again.

I just had to replace mine, it's rather easy. I cleaned it well, but nothing happened. Once I replaced it, my car was good to go.

Also, if you're mechanically inclined, try doing this

It's pretty much the same for our cars, just slightly different when you look at the intake plenum. Overall, pretty easy to do. I would suggest that you have plenty of cans of cleaner on hand. I went through about 6 cans doing this and the IACV.

im thinking about have the dealer do it. but i afraid of the cost.

man, don't pay the dealer!!!!

It's not hard to do, you just need basic tools. I believe I used a pair of adjustable pliers, needle nose pliers, screwdrivers, 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm sockets, and a 10" extension. It's not worth paying to have it done. Do you know anyone with tools and time?

yeah i guess, i did some research on autozone.com and the whole valve is 90 bucks.
