A 99 CL 3.0 and recently Got the engine light on and the code suggested a EGR problem. I brought the car to dealer and they asked for $400 for replacing and cleaning the valve. I am wondering if it is a serious problem? Can i keep driving it for now? I will try to clean the replace the part by myself later however right now i don't have time for that.
BTW, could someone any repair manual since i am a newbie with car repairs?
Any reply is highly appreciated.

 

I have a 98 CL with the same issue, only that mine is after the dealer repair/upgrade. -And I have already replaced the EGR valve ($80 at Checker auto and 5 minutes with a wrench) Will try some carb cleaner or 'Seafoam' cleaner to see if that works, but open to any additional advice...

 

this is the 2G CL forum guys, you should discuss this or have the mods move this to the 1G side.
