Hard Downshifting
Hard Downshifting
I have a 99 3.0 CL, and the shifting is getting a bit rough. If I drive it at a granny pace, there is no problem in shifting. Increase the throttle and there is harder shifting (sometimes). My main issue is with increased throttle downshifting, sometimes it feels like I am going to break something, other times it is perfectly smooth. I have also noticed a shuttering at low speeds, approximately 35-45 mph, but I can make that go away simply by dropping it into D3... no increase or decrease in throttle, but the shuttering or vibration I feel goes away.
Any insight would be appreciated. Oh yeah, just hit 91,000 on the odometer.

I changed the ATF and shifting improved. It did not eliminate the issue but it did help. I also read that the shuttering I was feeling could be from a malfunctioning torque converter... any word out there?
