factory car alarm problems please help!
I own a 99 CL and I can't figure out why when I push the lock and unlock on my acura factory key chain the car doesn't beep at me anymore when the doors lock or unlock. I think i pushed some buttons on the pad and set it for silent. It really suck on sunny days when I try and use the automatic lock button on my key chain and can't tell if my car is locked or not. The lights still flash but no sound any suggestion? I have disconnected the battery and reconnected it but that didn't make a difference. everybody talks about the black box for the alarm and removing the fuses where is that?
Usually if the chirp doesn't work anymore, it might mean the battery in the remote is on its way out. I had the same problem where I would set it to chirp and after a few days, it would go out and not chirp anymore. Doors would still lock and unlock regardless of the sound. I replaced the remote battery and the chirp is still working strong. Give this a shot if the chirp stops working after a few days.

The chirping and the alarm. If I hit the panic button the lights flash but no chirping. And when I lock and unlock the door it doesn't chirp, just the lights flash and it's hard to tell sometimes if I locked the door during the day. It's just annoying.

Alarm works! The panic button works too now after holding down the lock and trunk buttons. Still no door sill light. I'm guessing its just burned out... never taken apart the door before, and I don't think there's a fuse for that. Any ideas??

Mine works fine now thank you. I was one of many who bought it used and couldn't find anything about the alarm online until this forum
One question though is there any way to make is not so loud? Its pretty darn loud right now haha.

cl alarm
funny, i thought cl's only had that chirp until a few mths ago when i saw a girl unlock her 325is with the exact same sound. I didn't have the ball joints to get the nerve to run over and ask her about it but that can't be factory bimmer can it? Either way, its still a loud and distinctive noise in todays parking lots with nearly every car remote having some sort of lock/unlock notification. and it still turns some heads...
...BTW if you're sneaking in, just lock it with the door panel, sneaking out...well you'll just have to play with those two buttons or use the key. (my actuators are broken so can't use the key or the alarm will go off

I have 2.3 CL 99 and i have the same issue with my keyless entry. When i lock or unlock the doors it does not chirp but the light does come on and off. I tried holding trunk and lock key together but it doesn't solve the problem. I tried the panic button too but when i press it, just light come on and off and no sound. Any idea what could be wrong? Thank you all in advance for being so helpful , always.
99 2.3 CL won't chirp when locked or unlocked
I have a 1999 Acura 2.3 CL. It has always "chirpped" once when you lock it and twice when you unlock it. The chirping has stopped. The remote still DOES lock and unlock. The lights still flash when locked or unlocked. If and when I hit the "Panic"/alarm button, the alarm DOES sound. Every thing is normal except the chirps don happen when I lock or unlock it. I tried one solution I saw at this sight saying to "hold the trunk and lock buttons at the same time for 5 to 10 seconds and that will re-enable the chirps"....but that didn't help. Do I hit the trunk button first....or the lock button first??.....or do I try to press them both at the very same time??? I tried all three of those methods and it didn't help. Anyone have any other suggestions???? THANKS!
so long as you get them close enough together the order doesnt matter, pay attention to the LED on the thing, and only release the buttons after it flashes to confirm, I think 1 is ON and 2 is OFF
