Angry Engine Swap or Repair?

Hi all! I'm not really a car buff, but I do love my car! I have a 97 2.2 CL mt, and i just ran a diagnostics and discovered that I have the following problems:
-02 censor
-hv bank 1-2
-cylinder misfire
The car is really shaky in first, second and third, fourth and fifth are okay. I was told that this will be a pretty pricey job, so I'm wondering if I should just completely swap the engine and be pro-active. If so, what kind of engine would you recommend? more power is always more fun....

I could b wrong here...but this doesnt sound pricey to me at all...o2 sensors are like 60 dollars and the car shakes bc of the misfire. even replacing most of the ignition system would only be around 250-300 dollars...far cheaper than a new engine if you ask me...of course these are all DIY prices...but these are not hard jobs

yah, it doesnt sound like you need to go as far as new/rebuilt engine. like 97 cl 2.2 said, you could try to tune it up with sensor(s), plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter, air filter (cleaned if k&n) and a can of sea foam throgh the gas tank, if would be way less than engines n shit.

buuuuuut, if you wasnt to get some ponies either would be just fine. the best bang for your money would be to rebuild the 2.2 with some bearings, rod & pistons, cams, a good cylinder hone and B&B'd. then i promis you would not be disapointed.
